Parks & Recreation Update and Community Center Analysis
02/25/2010
As many of you have heard we unfortunately did not receive the super-majority required to pass the recent Park and Community Center Bond that was proposed during the last general election. Even though the bond was unsuccessful, there were still 56.6% of the community that voted in favor of the project and the vision to build the first phase of the 50 acre park. Although we approach the new year without funding; our community is still hurting from the loss of Wren Pierson, and this spring our youth sports leagues will be scrambling to find space for practices and games. As a City, we must prepare and plan for the future, and we must continue to work towards finding a solution that the community supports and addresses our community needs. Given our situation we have peformed an analysis of eight different facility options. For the results of this anaylsis please click on the link above.
