Badger Lake
Anglers will find rainbow and cutthroat trout in abundance during fishing season (the last full weekend in April through September 30). Cheney Clothing Exchange
The Clothing Exchange is located in the Wren Pierson Community Center, 620 3rd Street, and is open Wednesdays at Noon. Residents in need of these services are encouraged to call (509) 235-2327 for more information. -
Cheney Community Garden
Located within the undeveloped portion of Centennial Park near the north end of town. Participants pay $30 per 20' x 40' garden plot to cover water cost, and share seeds, tillers and tools with other gardeners. A portion of each garden's produce is donated to the Cheney Food Bank. The Cheney Library is part of the Spokane County Library district, giving local residents access to regional library system amenities. -
Cheney Food Bank
Now located at the Wren Pierson Community Center, 624 3rd Street, the food bank is open the first four Wednesdays of the month from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Cheney Historical Museum
The Cheney Historical Museum is dedicated to gathering, preserving, and sharing information and artifacts concerning the history of the Four Lakes, Marshall, Cheney, Tyler, and Amber districts of southwest Spokane County in eastern Washington.

Summer Hours (May - September): Thursday - Saturday 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Cheney Outreach Center
Located in the Wren Pierson Community Center, 616 3rd Street, the Cheney Outreach Center provides basic emergency assistance -- energy, transportation (gas vouchers and bus tokens), and limited rent and prescription aid. Recreation program scholarships are also available. Resident and income guidelines do apply.

Cheney WAVES Competitive Swim Team
A USA Swimming competitive swim team for ages 5 and up. Swimmers must have the ability to safely swim across a 25 yard pool to join. Free bus transportation from Cheney Schools to the EWU Aquatic Center is provided. Call 509-995-5395 for more information.

Columbia Plateau Trail
Columbia Plateau Trail State Park is a 4,109-acre, 130-mile-long rail-bed trail that traces the 1908 original path of the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railroad. The route is most accessible at Cheney, with other less accessible points along the way. The route is steeped in history, with scenic vistas along the trail. Currently 23 miles of the trail between Lincoln County and Cheney are developed and open for public use.
