Visiting Cheney
Welcome to Cheney - A Friendly Place to Visit
Your visit with us is important! Cheney is a unique community with a rich history. Incorporated in 1883, Cheney boasts two historic districts listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Download the informative Downtown Cheney walking tour brochure or the Eastern Washington University walking tour brochure.
Cheney Rodeo Days, a PRCA-sanctioned event where cowboys compete for a share of $40,000 in prize money, is held at the Bi-Mart Arena during the second weekend in July. For additional information, visit the Cheney Rodeo website.
Cheney's unique geographic setting can be attributed to cataclysmic floods that occurred at the end of the last Ice Age. The Cheney-Spokane Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute offers periodic educational opportunities, as well as materials to help visitors take self-guided tours.
