Fire Department

Cheney Fire Department is responsible for fire protection, emergency medical services, fire prevention, public education, emergency planning and code enforcement.

 

Cheney Fire is a combination career/volunteer department which provides full service fire protection, fire prevention, hazardous materials response, rescue, and emergency medical services to nearly 11,000 residents.  The department responds to approximately 1,300 calls annually out of one station. 

We are a combination department with eighteen part paid volunteers, six residents, and nine full-time line firefighters and two full-time administrative staff. We have one station that houses two engines, one pumper/ladder truck, medical unit and one brush truck.

The department is made up of the Fire Chief, Secretary, nine career Firefighters, four Resident Firefighters, and approximately twenty Volunteer Firefighters.
