The Cheney Community Development Department aims to assure the city's citizens an optimum living environment through comprehensive planning and land use management while providing an expanded employment base in an environmentally conscious residential and business community.

Planning Commission meetings are held monthly, on the 2nd Monday of each month, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 609 2nd Street.  Minutes of previous meetings can be reviewed here, and an agenda for the current month's meeting is also available for review. 

Cheney Comprehensive Plan

• Visioning -- The Long-Range Planning Proces (final draft report)

This report was prepared by our consultant, Studio Cascade, following several community participation exercises.  It is considered a draft document, and is the starting point for ongoing community visioning exercises, described more fully on our Vision 2008 page.

• A Citizens' Advisory Committee was appointed in early 2008 to assist in development of a community vision.
