Cheney Parks & Recreation Special Olympics - Amazing Half Court Shot by Scott Tobin
03/01/2010
Last Thursday (2/26/10) a student named Anthony Priest from Whitworth University invited our Cheney Parks & Recreation Special Olympic Basketball team to play an exhibition scrimmage during the halftime of one of their college basketball games. The event was created to help build support for the local Polar Bear Plunge, which is a Special Olympic fundraiser. The Whitworth fans were incredibly supportive throughout the scrimmage as they were on their feet for most of the time and cheering very loudly for every individual on the court. At the end of the scrimmage there was a special surprise for everyone in the gymnasium as Special Olympic athlete Scott Tobin launched an incredible shot from beyond half court. Thanks to Mr. & Mrs. Tobin we are able to share the video of this experience as this was something many of us will never forget!
