Cheney Youth Commission

The Cheney Youth Commission is made up of thirteen 8-12th grade students residing within the Cheney School District. This group of individuals volunteer to meet twice a month serving two major purposes for the community. They provide an outlet for youth voice, and will share community input with the Park Board and City Council. They also work to develop several community events to benefit Cheney’s youth.

If you are interested in serving on the Youth Commission, the application process will begin May 2008. Or if you have any questions at all, please do not hesitate to contact the Recreation Department @ 509.498.9250

Cheney Park Board Seeks Feedback on Park Regulations
09/14/2007
The Cheney Park Board currently has the City’s park regulations under review and is seeking feedback from the community. Specific regulations that are being discussed are changing the park closure time from 10pm to dusk, and a new regulation that would prohibit the use of tobacco in City parks.
