CHILD CAR SEAT INSPECTIONS
 
The Cheney Fire Department is committed to child safety. FREE INSPECTIONS are performed by appointment at the Cheney Fire Station, 611 Fourth St.

IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS:

Did you know that four out of five car seats are used improperly? Car crashes are the leading cause of preventable childhood injury and despite advancement in technology and education, many children are being placed in vehicles unrestrained. During 1996, nine thousand, fifty-one motor vehicle occupants under 15 years old were involved in fatal crashes and of those, over half were unrestrained. Most parents do make an attempt to fasten the safety belt around the child safety seat, however correct installation is sometimes difficult.

To schedule an appointment, please call the Cheney Fire Department at 498-9291 and ask for Tim Steiner. Each appointment lasts approximately 30 minutes.
