2006 Proposed Comp Plan Amendments
The Planning Commission has been considering a number of amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan and associated development regulations, including Cheney Municipal Code Title 21 (Zoning) and Title 22 (Subdivisions). Final action on these proposed amendments is expected at the January 8, 2007 regular meeting of the Planning Commission. The Planning Commission's recommendation will then be forwarded to City Council for their consideration and adoption. Environmental reviews for the proposed changes have been completed, and the Mayor has issued a Declaration of Non-Significance (DNS) for these proposed amendments, except that the R. W. Thorpe & Associates Comp Plan Amendment & Rezone Request received a Mitigated Determination of Non-Signficiance (MDNS). Environmental documents are available for review on this site, or at the Planning Department office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays. - S-04-06: R. W. A description of each proposed amendment follows: 01 | Comprehensive Plan Amendment #CPA-01-06 LU/Zoning amendments for RW Thorpe property, Mullinix Rd (formerly Eco Industrial Park BSP) | 02 | Urban Growth Area Amendments | 03 | Comp Plan - Capital Facilities - update the capital improvements plan, including capital costs and identification of funding sources -- ALREADY ADOPTED BY CITY COUNCIL | 04 | Comp Plan – Introduction – Visioning Statement | 05 | Comp Plan - Land Use - update maps and tables referring to land use categories, zoning classifications, and urban growth area boundaries | 06 | Comp Plan – Housing - update charts, graphs, tables and policies | 07 | Land Use and Zoning Map Conformance | 08 | Comp Plan – Transportation - develop goals and policies for bicycles and pedestrian activity (GMA req’t) | 09 | Comp Plan – Parks - adopt recent revisions to the Park Comprehensive Plan | 10 | Comp Plan - Central Business District Sub-Area Plan, which will include new goals and policies, development of a design review section for the historic district, and business recruitment strategies for economic development
