Planning & Zoning
Boards and Commissions: The City Council relies on the Planning Commission to recommend land use policy and to hold public hearings to take comment on specific land use applications prior to decisions. The Historic Preservation Commission is charged with inventorying the community's historic resources, and with making recommendations for listing on the local, state and national registers of historic places. And the Board of Adjustments hears appeals of decisions by the Building Official, and also reviews applications for variances to the zoning code.
