Visioning
The Cheney Planning Commission began a visioning process in fall of 2005, to help the commissioners get a look at the “big picture.” It has been 10 years since the commission and the community have engaged in thinking about the long term. After working through numerous plats, rezones, conditional use permits and comprehensive plan amendments, the members thought it would be helpful to step back and look at where we have come from and where we might be going in the next 20 years.

The Mayor has appointed a Citizens' Advisory Committee to coordinate the process of completely overhauling our Comprehensive Plan. In early Spring 2008, they are helping to document our 'community vision,' and will be involved in identifying goals and strategies for the comp plan. There's room for YOU to be involved in the process! For more information, contact Elisa Rodriguez in the Community Development Department at 498-9221, visit our Citizens' Advisory Committee page, and take our survey to share your thoughts on our community!
