Stage West Community Theatre
Stage West community Theatre is a group of your friends and neighbors, dedicated to bringing quality theatre to the West Plains. You may see familiar faces in our cast, crew and staff. Cheney Community Garden
The Cheney Community garden is located within the undeveloped portion of Centennial Park. 20' x 40' plots are available to gardners who share seeds, tillers, and tools. Participants are asked to pay $20 per plot to cover water costs. A portion of each gardens produce is donated to the Cheney Food Bank. Interested gardens can obtain contact information through the Cheney Recreation Department.

Cultural Arts Guild & Pathways to Progress
Our goal is to promote the Arts in the West Plains area by providing a forum for artisans to share information, support one another and to promote art-related activities in our communities. Summer events include a Second Annual Art Walk 2006 on June 9th 12 noon - 6pm and June 10th 11am - 4pm. EWRA Hurricane Swim Team

The Hurricanes are a USA Swimming competitive swim team for ages 5 and up.

  • Swimmers must have the ability to safely swim across a 25 yard pool to join.
  • Swimming allows you to improve your physical, mental, and emotional well being.
  • Free bus transportation from Cheney Schools to the EWU Aquatic Center is provided.

Cheney Cooperative Preschool

  • This is a unique and affordable opportunity for you to learn with your child while earning college credits! We offer Preschool and Pre-K classes. Call and stop by for a visit.

West Plains Little League Association

  • West Plains Little League offers competitive youth baseball for boys and girls ages 5-14 and softball for girls ages 7-12. Baseball age brackets are: T-Ball -5-6, Coach Pitch 7-8, Minors 9-12, Majors 9-12, Junior League 13-14. Softball age brackets are 7-10 and 10-12.  WPLL signups are in Feb., and season runs from April-Mid June. Fall Season runs from Sep. 1 – Mid-Oct. Spokane Youth Sports Association

  • Registration for all the 2005 SYSA Flag and Tackle Football leagues has begun.
  • Registration for SYSA fall Soccer & Baseball will begin on May 16th.

Weight Watchers

  • Wednesday: 6:00pm & Thursday: 12:15p.m.
  • Weigh-In begins 1/2 hour prior to meeting.

  • Recreation program scholarships are available through Cheney Outreach. For information call 235-8900. Resident & income guidelines do apply.

Boy Scouts/Cub Scouts

  • Boy Scouts Meet Tuesday Nights @ UCC – 6:30pm /Cub Scouts Meet the 4th Monday of each month at Betz Elementary Viking Room – 6:30pm.

Girl Scouts

  • Join Girl Scouts! Girls in grades K-12 are welcome. Opportunity Scholarship Program available. Troop 558 meets 1st and 3rd Wednesdays at Salnave Elementary   Contact Kris Aasheim at 235-5366 for more information. Girl Scouting builds girls of courage, confidence and character, who make the world a better place.

Chamber of Commerce

  • Stop by the West Plains Chamber of Commerce at 201 1st Streetin Cheney for information on local events, attractions, and more. You can also get discounted daily golf passes to The Fairways at West Terrace. Pavlish Playhouse & Preschool

  • Pavlish Playhouse & Preschool offers preschool and childcare for ages 1 month to 12 years of age.

Cheney Historical Museum

  • The Cheney Historical Museum is located at 614 3rd St. Our regular hours are
