Snow and Ice Removal Policy

In most instances, when snowfall accumulations are less than two inches, the Streets and Transportation Division will focus its efforts on traction control measures to address ice on the roadways.  Traction control measures include the use of calcium chloride with corrosion inhibitors as a liquid for pretreating post storm applications.  We also use a solid deicer and sand.

Snow plowing will typically occur when snowfall accumulations exceed two inches on the roadway.  For more information regarding snow and ice removal please refer to the Snow and Ice Removal Policy (PDF).
