Solid Waste
The Cheney Solid Waste Division is responsible for both the collection and disposal of solid waste as well as the collection and processing of recyclable materials. As of January 2010, the City no longer contracts for solid waste collection and disposal, but maintains the crews and equipment to provide the service directly to our customers.
The City transports the material to the Waste-to-Energy incineration plant. The City runs and operates its own recycling facility that is open to the public 21 hours a week for the drop-off of a wide range of recyclable materials.
