Cheney Government

Introduction & Quick Facts
The City of Cheney has a strong Mayor form of local government.

• The Mayor is elected by the community at large every four years.
• The City Council consists of  seven (7) City Council members who are also elected to serve in four year terms.
• The Mayor performs as the Chief Executive Officer and the City Council performs the legislative functions.

City Council Meetings
These meetings are scheduled for every second and fourth Tuesday of the month.

• City Council meetings begin promptly at 6:00 PM and are conducted in the City Council Chambers located at City Hall, 609 Second Street, Cheney, Washington.
• An agenda of the upcoming City Council meeting is posted in City Hall on the Friday before the regularly scheduled City Council Meeting.
• The agenda is also available through this web site by clicking onto the “City Council Agenda” link. The public is invited and urged to attend City Council meetings.
