Cheney Outreach Center
Requests for City of Cheney recreation program scholarships may be made to the Cheney Outreach Center during the following times:
- Mondays: 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.
- Wednesdays: 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- All other times: Please call and leave a message, and Outreach Center staff will get back to you as soon as possible.
Resident and income guidelines do apply. Call ahead to learn what documents will be needed.

Cheney Outreach Center also offers free information and referral for all, as well as direct emergency assistance for low-income people including the elderly, ill, disabled, and homeless persons and families. Direct emergency assistance includes energy, rent, medical prescription, transportation assistance; recreation activities, school supplies, and Christmas gifts for children; food bank referral; and vouchers for food, household, and personal needs. Assistance depends on available funds. When applying for assistance, you have the right to be treated with dignity and respect, with no discrimination based on race, sex, religion, color, family status, national origin, or disability. Outreach complies with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act and Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1965.
Cheney Outreach is a coalition of the following Cheney churches: Cheney Congregational, Church of the Nazarene, St. Paul’s Episcopal, Fellowship Baptist, Emmanuel Lutheran, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Cheney United Methodist, Amazing Grace, Cheney Community Church, and Cheney Faith Center. Cheney Outreach is also supported by a Spokane County Community Development Block Grant, the Catholic Foundation of Spokane, the Salvation Army, Washington State Employees Combined Fund Drive, and other corporate, service club, and private donations.
