Public Works Department
The Cheney Public Works Department is responsible for designing and maintaining streets, providing a safe and reliable water supply, recycling and solid waste disposal, and stormwater and wastewater disposal.

If your project will require adding water or sewer connections or upgrading your existing service please contact the Public Works Department at 498-9293. The City will require an New Service Connect/Service Modification Application.
Mission
The mission of the Cheney Public Works Department is to provide:- Clean and plentiful drinking water
- Environmentally safe and responsive measures for collecting and treating wastewater and reusing wastewater byproducts
- Collection and disposal of solid waste and operation of a recycling facility open to the public
- Transportation facilities that efficiently and safely accommodate multiple modes of travel
- Assurance of safe, quality building construction in compliance with adopted building, plumbing and mechanical codes
