Moving Out

There are three ways to terminate your service and close our account:
  • In person - at the Finance Office during normal business hours
  • Over the phone - you must provide the last 4 digits of your SSN and a forwarding address
  • Complete Request to Disconnect Service
  • Make sure to check with your landlord to ensure your lease allows you to disconnect the service on the date you are requesting.   The power will go off on that day.

Disconnect orders can be requested:
  • The same day if received and processed before 3:00 p.m.
  • Any future regular business day, holidays and weekends excluded.

Failure to contact the City and end your service will mean the bill continues to accrue in your name.   You are responsible for all usage on your meter.

When You Disconnect

The City will turn off your electricity, read your meter, and bill your account.  Your deposit will be applied and either a bill or refund will be mailed within 3-7 business days.   Final bills are due two weeks after mailing.
