Geographic SettingCheney's unique geographic setting can be attributed to cataclysmic floods that occurred at the end of the last Ice Age. The Cheney-Spokane Chapter of the Ice Age Floods Institute offers periodic educational opportunities, as well as materials to help visitors take self-guided tours.

Cheney Merchants AssociationThe Cheney Merchants Association (CMA) is a group of business owners, organizations, and community leaders working together to promote a dynamic marketplace in Cheney. The CMA promotes its member's businesses, helps to build relationships, facilitates activities that assist or educate business owners, and promotes activities that enhance the community.
The Cheney Merchants Association is open to all storefront, home-based, and non-profit organizations in Cheney.
