Budgeting

The City of Cheney City Council adopts an annual budget. Budgeting preparation begins in July and there are numerous opportunities for public comment during at least 3 public hearings held before final adoption. The City of Cheney encourages input and comment from our citizens. Links to current and previous fiscal year annual budgets are located below.   Please contact Cindy Niemeier, Finance Director, for additional information.  

The 2023 Preliminary Budget is available for public review.  The preliminary budget is split into "tabs" to allow for individual review of departments, discretionary requests, taxes, and expected revenues.  The tabs are identified and available below:
