Hotel/Motel (Lodging Tax) Funds are awarded for activities, festivals, and events that will draw tourism and overnight lodging guests to Cheney. The sources of the funds are the lodging taxes that are collected on overnight stays in lodging establishments within the City of Cheney.
Awards of Hotel/Motel funds are made by an appointed committee 4 times/year. Meetings are held the first Tuesday of the February, May, August, and November. Meetings are open to the public and held in the City Council chambers at 3:00p.m.
To be eligible for review and funding, applications are to be received before 5:00 p.m. on: January 31, May 31, August 31, and November 30 of each year.
