Resolution F-166, if passed, renews our cooperation agreement with Spokane County for the next three years regarding CDBG and other related funding. Cheney has been in the consortium for over 30 years and received valuable funding for street repairs and other City projects. Staff recommends approving the cooperation agreement.
The Light Department requested proposals from engineering firms for geotechnical engineering services and analysis related to expanding the Cheney Electrical Substation. Staff received only one proposal and recommend entering into an agreement with Budinger & Associates.
The Light Department requested proposals from three fencing companies to install approximately 520 lineal feet of chain link fence in the Utilities Building yard. Staff received three proposals and recommends entering into an agreement with Northwest Fence Company who provided the lowest price proposal.
The Transportation Improvement Board is soliciting applications from qualified agencies for transportation preservation projects. City Staff is proposing to apply for design and construction preservation funding for Elm St. from Washington St. to N 6th St. Grant funding requires a 10% match. Applications are due August 11, 2023.
A resolution authorizing city staff to engage in further discussion and work with the Spokane Regional Collaborative on the formation of the Spokane Regional Authority for Homelessness, Housing, Health and Safety.
Should Cheney Proposition No.1 fail to pass via the August Primary Election, we are proposing Ordinance Y-48 seeking approval from City Council to place the measure on the November 7, 2023 General Election ballot.
