23-077 - Resolution F-173 - PFAS Legal Services Agreement

In 2021, the City detected the presence of several Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) compounds in groundwater well (Well 5) while participating in sampling offered by the Department of Health ahead of the implementation of the USEPA’s Fifth Unregulated Contaminant Monitoring Rule (UCMR 5). One of the PFAS contaminants found (PFOS) exceeded the State Action Level (SAL). The purpose of this legal services agreement (LSA) is to investigate and assess potential claims arising because of the presence of those PFAS, and to provide terms and conditions for legal representation for the City.
