SNOW REMOVAL IN CHENEY; VEHICLES TO BE REMOVED FROM STREETS

With even more snow headed our way over the next several days, Cheney snowplow drivers and emergency responders stress the need for vehicles to be removed from our streets. Cheney Police will begin towing vehicles and citing the registered owners effective immediately.
City of Cheney law states that whenever two or more inches of snow accumulates on city streets, and so long as that snow remains uncleared, no vehicles may be parked on any street or city right-of-way between midnight and 6 a.m., or while plows are operating. The law gives police the authority to issue citations and have vehicles towed at the owners' expense.
Additionally, other vehicles such as motorhomes, boats, and trailers need to be removed from our roadways. Snow plowing is an essential part of maintaining safe streets during winter months, and City crews work hard to keep our streets clear of snow.
Please help our street crews keep our roadways clear of snow by removing all vehicles from the city right-of-way.
