Due to the hot weather with little relief in sight, we are asking Cheney residents, businesses, property management companies and lawn care companies to reduce the amount of lawn irrigation within the city limits. Please adhere to the odd-even schedule and reduce the overall amount of water used to irrigate green space within the City. Our hope, with the community's cooperation, is to raise the level of the reservoir to appropriate levels as soon as possible.
Today, July 9, 2018, reservoir levels are at 14.6 feet. Our goal is for the reservoirs to be around 25 feet. Cheney School District and City of Cheney parks on potable water have shut down irrigation in the short term to help in restoring the levels in the reservoirs.
