Comprehensive Plan Amendments Accepted

Washington State law states that the City of Cheney may consider amendments to the Comprehensive Plan no more frequently than once a year.  The Cheney Planning Department will accept proposals on Comprehensive Plan amendments beginning October 1, 2019, and continuing through 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 15, 2019, for consideration during 2020.  After this date, no other proposals will be accepted until next year.  All applications for Comprehensive Plan Amendments must be accompanied by a non-refundable fee of $2,000 and a SEPA environmental checklist and associated fee of $150.  If a change of the zoning map is requested, the applicant must also submit an Application for Zone Change and associated fee of $1,500 so the zone change may be considered concurrently with the comprehensive plan amendment.

For more information, please contact Brett Lucas, Senior Planner, Cheney Planning Department, 112 Anderson Road, Cheney, Washington, phone (509) 498-9221.
