[ARCHIVED] City of Cheney Schedules Utility Disconnects for Unpaid and Delinquent Accounts

Governor Inslee's moratorium on utility disconnects ended September 30, 2021.     The orange disconnect order notices are being hand delivered Monday, November 1, 2021 with disconnects for nonpayment scheduled for all residential and commercial accounts on November 3, 2021 and November 4, 2021.    Please note the delivery of the disconnect order notice carries a $30.00 fee to be paid with your delinquent payment.   

 

There are still City Council approved ARPA funds available for residential customers who have a delinquent bill and have been negatively impacted financially by the COVID pandemic.   Please call the Finance Department at (509) 498-9209 or see the utilities button on our website to learn about assistance options.     Cheney Outreach is the 3rd party partner receiving applications for assistance and will have extended hours to assist customers in applying for ARPA utility assistance funds.   Please call Outreach to make an appointment at (509) 235-8900 and the Finance Department (509) 498-9209 to obtain the appropriate documents prior to your appointment.
