[ARCHIVED] Water Conservation Program

Due to the continued hot weather and a mechanical failure at Well # 5, the City of Cheney is asking its residents and businesses to begin water irrigation conservation. The conservation program includes:

  • Odd / Even irrigation schedule: If your street address is an odd number, you may irrigate on odd calendar days. If your street address is even, you may irrigate on even calendar days.
  • No water irrigation between 10:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.
  • Limit the amount of irrigation watering to 1-inch per week.

If you are not able to follow the conservation program, please limit your irrigation watering to 2 to 3 days a week with a 1-inch per week application and avoid watering during the hot times of the day.

For more information or questions about water irrigation conservation, please contact Public Works at (509) 498-9293.
