1. How do I begin or end utility service?

2. What initial charges will I have?

Charges for connecting electric service is $15 and water service is $5.00. These charges will be included on your first bill.

3. Where do I send my payment?

Mail-in payments should include your bill stub or your account number on your check.

4. What happens if I can't pay my bill in full before disconnect day?

The key to keeping your utility service connected is communication. We are able to provide agencies that provide utility assistance. That information is also available on the Utilities button on the website under "Help with your Bill." Extensions may be granted on a case by case basis.

5. What about my deposit?

Your deposit is applied to your final bill. If your bill is less than the deposit amount, you will receive a refund. If your bill is more than the deposit amount, you will receive a bill for the difference. Deposits are non-transferable between locations.

6. Why do you need my forwarding address?

The City of Cheney receives hundreds of dollars back in refunds marked un-deliverable by the Post Office. We need your forwarding address in order to mail your refund. Unclaimed refunds are sent to the State of Washington yearly as Unclaimed Property.

7. Request a Letter of Credit for my new utility?

There is a link to an on-line form on the utilities button on this website. Your letter of credit will be completed in two business days.
