1. Can I get fingerprinted for employment at the Cheney Police Department?

Yes, we do employment prints Monday through Friday, from 0800-1200. The cost is $5. Prior to printing, you would need to have an addressed envelope with postage for its final destination. Any documents that would accompany the print card would need to be completed as well. Due to the chain of custody, we cannot hand over the prints to you after they have been taken. Our administrators will that the envelope, with contents, to the post office for delivery.

2. Does the Cheney Police Department have a ride along program?

Yes, you will need to fill out the ride along application, go through a brief background check, and if you pass the checks, a supervisor will contact you to setup the time for your ride along.

3. I'm going on vacation. Can the police department keep an eye on my house while I'm gone?

Yes, we have a vacation check form we can fill out with your address, dates you will be gone, and key custodian information, and special notes for our officers to be aware of. Please contact dispatch at 509-535-9233 to arrange this service.

4. Does the Cheney Police Department serve legal papers?

The Cheney Police Department only serves paperwork that is forwarded to us at the request of the court. Personal services can be arranged by contacting a process server. To view a list of process servers in our area, click here!

5. How do I apply for a noise variance?

Submit the request in a written letter to the Chief of Police ten days in advance of the event including who you are, the address of noise variance, phone number, and the date and times of the requested variance. After a review of the request, the Chief of Police will contact you by letter with the approval or denial of the request.

6. Can I register my bike at the Police Department?

Yes, this can be done at any time. We never close.
